Here are a few tips when you are ready to buy a new pc.
Tip #1 :
Just resist the urge to buy that spanking new all in one PC. They are a mess to work on, and underpowered unless you spend more than they are worth! I get calls to replace screens, make them faster, or just fix the mess that is a commercially available all in one computer! They tend to be low end processors, not enough ram, and not designed well enough to last or perform as you would expect a desktop to work.
Consider a traditional desktop with discreet components for a better pc that will perform better, be easier to repair, and make your life easier in the long run. We can show you how much better a traditional desktop works when you come by the shop and see one of our Custom Desktops with the latest Microsoft OS installed!
Tip #2
Consider all your choices when searching for that new laptop to buy! If it was me buying a new laptop I would avoid anything with Microsoft branding, like their surface offerings! I get a lot of calls about working on them and decline the work since the process to get them apart involves almost tearing the device apart just to get to any serviceable components! They use glue for a lot of the assembly process which just points to shoddy engineering when compared to a more traditional laptop!
There are some very good laptops being offered by HP, Dell and Lenovo, but they are expensive for one that will last and perform for the long run! Look for Models like the Z Book, Thinkpads, Latitudes and Precisions. Avoid anything that says Celeron, or the dreaded 4 or even 8 gigs of ram!
Any of our refurbished Windows 11 laptops here at the shop all come with 16 gigs of ram standard! There is a difference in performance from even that one upgrade!
